On Friday (Nov.8), Milwaukee lost a Hip-Hop legend, Twan Mack, who suddenly passed due to heart complications.
TM's death was published by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - which reported that "In his 2019 track "Laughing @ U... Twan Mack declared "all rappers/producers aint created equal" and the response to the news about his death on Friday in Milwaukee shows he had no equal. He was 54 years old."
Tributes to Twan Mack were world-wide; especially from those with direct Milwaukee Hip-Hop scene ties: Speech of Arrested Development, Configa, Kia Rap Princess, B~Free, Klassik, Jammin 98.3's Don Black, and Breaking And Entering Milwaukee.
In an interview with Radio Milwaukee in 2019, Mack said his music was more than just something to bop your head to, it was a vehicle with a deeper cause.
"I don't just get up there and rhyme, anybody can rhyme words," Mack said at the time. "But to resonate with the people and leave them with some mental jewels, some mental food, that's my goal every time I hit the stage. To leave you with something whether it be about financial literacy, whether it be about history in this country or worldwide history, whatever it may be... my focus, along with turning up, along with getting my point across is always to leave you with some jewels."
