His commitment to delivering high-quality production, combined with his passion for the genre, has allowed him to connect with a wide array of artists, including being the producer/Executive Producer on the last two critically acclaimed albums from 2 x Grammy Award Winners Arrested Development, collaborating with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Chuck D (Public Enemy), remixing for Tim Burgess of the Charlatans; as well as work with Hip-Hop legends Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Monie Love and The Sugarhill Gang amongst many others. His collaborations have resulted in successful releases and have further solidified his position as a sought-after producer.
Configa’s commitment to authenticity and his willingness to push boundaries have set him apart as a creative who is not afraid to innovate while paying homage to the foundations of Hip-Hop.
Beyond his work as a producer, a lifelong Hip-Hop head and intellectual thinker, Configa also obtained his PhD - in which he wrote his Doctoral thesis on the intersection of Hip-Hop culture and ethnicity - exploring the Hip-Hop scene in his home region.
He has also actively engaged in mentoring and promoting aspiring musicians through his Laidlaw Media PR outfit and runs his own record label, Configaration Records.
