BIOGRAPHY
Charles P. Walker, Saxophonist
Born in Hueytown, Alabama, Charles began playing the
saxophone at the age of twelve. Two years later at the
age of fourteen, his unique skills and passion for music
opened the door of opportunity for him to begin playing
at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Wylam, Alabama.
Charles quickly became one of Birmingham’s most
sought after saxophonist. His musical influence and
style are attributed to the likes of Grover Washington
Jr., Cannonball Adderly, Kirk Whalum and Gerald
Albright; However, his music carries a distinction that is
like no other.
In the year 2001, Charles moved to the Music City of
Nashville, Tennessee where he quickly became engaged
with some of the industry’s most elite artists. His studio
sessions with countless artists and his contributions to
many projects with notable artist such as Bernard
Harris and Kevin Whalum, his opening for Smokie
Norful and Donnie McClurkin and his sharing the stage
with many contemporary Christian artists including the
PlanetShakers, Jamie Grace and band members from
Royal Tailor and Building 429; have respectfully kept
Charles name on the lips of many artists across the
country.
Charles is one of the featured artists at the Bi-annual
Kingdom Global World Connect Conference, the Music
Boat and K-Love Christian Cruises.
Charles’ career has catapulted to amazing heights and
with his debut project “Life Changing: A Journey Called
Grace”, he fulfills his desire and purpose to share his
gift with as many people as possible. In his own words,
Charles declares “My wish is that God will allow my
music to bless communities and nations”.
