Miami-Spanglish boom-bap trio Grupo HNE is grand closing Summer 2024 with another banger caliente "La Doce"; just as they grand opened this season with “Calle HNE”.
Both single releases are testament to their independent debut album Grupo HNE - a llameante éxito of bilingual linguistics, culture, and professional performance that's blended, cooked and served via true Hip-Hop perfection.
In “La Doce”, Grupo HNE gives dap to P fkn R! Puerto Rico. Translated to English, “La Doce” means twelve and was named because it was recorded as the last song on the group’s newly released LP.
Given the video treatment as well, the track observes the trio sharing a meal and strolling through the night life in their home turf of Miami, Florida.
DJ Exes (emcee) gives props to his Puerto Rican homeland over the instrumental provided by group producer DJ Heron and multi-instrumentalist Nando.
DJ Exes also spoke on summer opener single “Calle HNE”:
“Like in the video, we take you on a ride mentally without you having to go anywhere physically. There are no samples in this song. It’s the same for the entire album.
